Restaurant Ca d'Oro
As we like to test the things that matter we stepped into Restaurant Cà d'Oro at the Kempinski hotel in St Moritz. Not knowing what to expect we entered a dining room that is the perfect venue for an intimate vibe that goes well with a unique dining experience. As most of our hotels serve excellent food already, some of them take it a level up by acquiring a Michelin star, Gault Millau points or even both.
The experience The Restaurant Cà d'Oro is one of those as the restaurant is awarded with a Michelin Star and 17 Gault Millau points. The minute we sat down we were welcomed with a glass of excellent Champagne followed by a series of mouthwatering amuses from the chef to awaken our taste buds. The creations and decoration were promising and so we took off to what became an excellent dining experience. All courses are are served by a very talented staff and sommelier the showed his skills by serving extraordinary wines that easily makes you fall in love with the artworks on you plate. Think the best quality beef served with an reduced sauce that makes you want to et you cutlery and everything it touched. Seafood preparations that made sense in every way as there sometimes might be flavours on you plate you would not expect but start to appreciate as it compliments the dish so well you are pleasantly surprised it was part of the dish.
As the night went on the best food (and wines) kept coming like the chef had an easy run serving us his best dishes. Everything arrived at the right moment although the restaurant had a good occupancy. the kitchen seemed to run smoothly as not any waiter showed a sign of being in a hurry.
What to know Restaurant Cà d'Oro is opened until 27 February and reservations made in advance are recommended as this is quite the culinary hotspot within the St Moritz and the entire Engadin Valley.
